Our story has roots that go back to 2008. That’s when Michael Sherman and Jamie Kaye Walters founded Velocity Cow, a video production company born in a humble home office. Their passion for creating brilliant video projects quickly transformed Velocity Cow into a thriving business with a nationwide clientele.
Peter Van Dyke, with two decades of experience in the PR industry, owned a successful agency in Detroit, which he acquired in 2016 and led through immense growth for the following six years.
Peter, Jamie and Mike decided to join forces in 2022, based on their mutual passion and vision to establish an agency that embodies the future of our industry while fostering meaningful relationships with clients, employees, and the community.
In March 2025, VVK acquired New Jersey-based Stern Strategy Group’s PR division, bringing 40 years of national executive visibility public relations experience to the agency.
This strategic venture expands VVK’s national presence and deepens the agency’s capacity to support its growing demand to provide national-scale executive and organizational positioning services.

After a courageous 7-year battle with brain cancer, this world lost Izzy Sherman. Izzy, the daughter of our beloved co-workers and friends Mike and Alana Sherman, was truly remarkable. She defied the odds twice, living life with unparalleled courage and spreading joy wherever she went. To honor her legacy, VVK PR + Creative has named our giving-back initiative “Izzy Inspires + VVK Gives Back.” We are dedicated to impacting our communities, particularly in Detroit, by supporting organizations that align with our values and passion for making a difference. Join us as we continue to spread love and joy in Izzy’s name. VVK has proudly supported organizations such as Detroit Public Theatre, Michigan Humane, Autism Alliance of Michigan, and InsideOut Literary Arts, among others.
The VVK PR + Creative Student Scholarship is in partnership with Wayne State University’s Department of Communications. This needs-based scholarship is designed to support students pursuing studies in video production, graphic design, digital design, and public relations. Located in the vibrant heart of Midtown Detroit, Wayne State University shares our commitment to fostering opportunities for passionate individuals.
