Vonetta Gates is a VVK writer and producer. She develops commercials for WDIV-Local 4 and supports other clients in the agency’s national portfolio.

Vonetta is an accomplished, award-winning producer with a background in print journalism. Before coming to VVK, she worked as an associate producer for “Primary Care with Dr. Lonnie Joe,” a Detroit-based talk show focused on health-related issues impacting African Americans.  She also worked as a freelance videographer across Metro Detroit, producing and creating videos for online and streaming platforms.

Vonetta volunteers as the video director at her place of worship, where she trains and organizes a team of volunteers in directing weekly online streaming broadcasts. She is a graduate of Wayne State University and Specs Howard School of Media Arts.
