VVK PR + Creative is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Public Relations Intern to join our team for a hands-on learning experience in agency life. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is interested in beginning a career in communications, expanding their skillset and contributing to growing an agency.

We help complex, mission-driven and growth-focused organizations clarify who they are, strengthen their voice and build credibility through smart strategy and creative design to inspire action. Our team of PR strategists, video producers and storytellers create strategies and experiences that resonate with audiences, drive differentiation and fuel growth. VVK serves clients across sectors, including agriculture, automotive, energy, insurance, IT, hospitality, legal, media, nonprofit, real estate and retail.
What You Will Do
- Support media relations efforts by drafting press materials, tracking coverage, researching media opportunities and more
- Collaborate with the VVK team to contribute to client projects, including assisting with client calls, event coordination, video shoots and press conferences
- Participate in creative brainstorms, team meetings and internal culture initiatives
- Build your professional portfolio with 3–5 completed work samples (g. press releases, pitches, key message documents and more)
- Learn to use PR, social media and project management tools, such as CoverageBook, Meltwater, Hive, Sprout Social and more
- Additional tasks commensurate with experience and role
Who We’re Looking For
- Rising junior, senior or new graduate (less than one year since graduating) majoring in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related field
- Excellent writing and organizational skills
- A proactive, collaborative spirit and curiosity for learning
Details and Logistics
- Location: Midtown, Detroit (in-person)
- Post duration: Summer (May–August). Time frames are flexible and may be extended or shortened based on need and fit
- Schedule: 20-30 hours per week within VVK’s regular business hours: M-F, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Some evening availability may be required to support client events
- Compensation: $13.73/hour
